Coventry Cobras VS Leeds Knights

On the afternoon of the 7th of June 2014 your Coventry Cobras were
graced with the presence of a team unknown to them. The Leeds Knights
had made there way down from the north to play us in our back yard here
at the Coventry Skydome Arena. You could see from the off that it was going to be a very tough
experience with penalty minutes getting thrown around from both sides.
Although it was a fantastic game agreed by both teams, it just goes to
show much both teams wanted to take the victory for their first meet. With the Leeds knights scoring a 31 second goal and their second no more than 2 minutes later the Cobras fell to their back foot almost
instantly. With no time to get our heads together we dropped another one 30 seconds after restart. Shot after shot being fired at Goalie Kyle
Robinson. He had more rubber thrown at him than what's in a pack of
pencils. More goals started to become the result of a very strong and
composed Leeds team and the 1st period ended up with a whopping Leeds
7 - 0 Cobras score line. In the second the Cobras came out motivated to slow these boys down a
bit only allowing the Leeds knights to score once in the 31st Minute.
Although we came close to their zone a few times and keep the puck well
the Leeds team were like a brick wall at the back. Putting all of our
strength into getting on the score board only tired us out for the
dreaded third period. Last period and we had no more to give allowing the Knights through 3
more times making the final score a disastrous Knights 11 - 0 Cobras.
The game ended with every ones head held high despite the scoreline.
There is a big sense of pride knowing that win or loose everyone will
stick together and move on to our next challenge. Many thanks to every watching us and supporting all the players. Also
many thanks to everyone helping on game day and for more fixtures and
